Of course, I've also had the problem where I wasn't thinking and overpaid only to get $2.36 in change when the bill was $9-something and I paid with a couple dollars over a $10. That really confuses cashiers, and me. What I find interesting is that some of my new coworkers had never heard of a blog before. Thanks for the laugh :) I had a similar experience at the health food store recently... Trying to buy a simple item turned into a big confusing mess for the clerk... It goes to show that intelligent hiring managers are definitely worth it. Basic listening/comprehension and math skills are key in a retail position. LOL!
