I couldn't agree more! Why do most movie makers think that our kids need to grow up so fast?! Can't we make movies that are funny and smart, but still let them be kids for awhile?

I don't go to the movies much anymore, because all you see and hear is sex, violence and foul language. I only get dvd's to watch, when they are recommended by my friends, or I watch the good old movies.

I do think a lot of what is on TV and in movies forces kids to grow up too fast. It's sad when a high school freshman knows more about sex than you do.

I agree. I'm a big fan of Hitchcock and Capra myself. Both were a lot more entertaining than much of the stuff put out today.

Girl I hear you. A web site I've relied on is www.screenit.com ... they tell you everything, and I mean everything, that is in a movie ... down to the last cuss word and salacious scene and even the movie's overall message. It's been so helpful. And you are right: kids should be acquainted with the classics. Our four grew up on films from the "Golden Age of Hollywood" (they can quote "Singin' in the Rain" almost verbatim) and although we assiduously scout out new titles decent enough for us all to watch, most of our favorites were released pre-1950!
