MC:
It certainly did the trick for me!
Sarah:
It takes practice. If I, a person of questionable temperament can do it, anyone can.
Jenny:
So true. Kindness makes the twists and turns look so much better.
Jessica:
Yes, you are. I should know. I'm married to one.
Ferd:
Rest assured, I'm not going soft on you. If anything, the opposite is true!
Tom:
Yes, it's like a comet or an honest politician, isn't it?
Elaine:
Same here. I guess tolerant is something we grow into. Or not...when there's a stuper involved.

I love it when that happens. When you run into some on that just radiates. It's a rare occurrence, though, isn't it? Shame.
Happy New Year!

Like you said, Chris was only "mildly" stuperous, so his good qualities overshadowed the bad. That's okay with me. No one is perfect. The day I realized that about my own self, which was sometime in my forties, I became more tolerant of others. Not that it would give him a free pass for everything, but I would be glad to pay a few quarters more for a good mood in line at the post office. And I usually try to add to that good mood whenever I can. So I'm with you on this one, Keli.

But please reassure me that you're not turning softie on the world of stupers out there! You are the one anti-stuper I can always depend on!

I'm with Sarah. Dumb is dumb, I don't care if you serve it to me on a platter of niceness. Am I a typical NYer or what?

Isn't that the truth? Proving once again, people don't mind what color you are or what you're wearing or what church you attend or how much money you have, nearly as much as they care that you truly SEE them, and that you validate their existence by treating them with kindness and respect. It's what we all need, and what we all must learn to give.

Oh, I wish it was this easy to overlook stupers. I'm going to have to seek out some Hallmark moments.

It would take a lot for me to overlook stupidity. A glowing room, however, might do it the trick for me. Nice post!
