Last year I was doing some Christmas shopping at Tuesday Morning and a lady was on her cell phone in the store, which, while big enough, has concrete floors that for some reason carry sound very well. In contrast to her voice, a foghorn would have sounded like angels singing. She blurted news and opinions and instructions and intentions ad nauseam, ad infinitum, until honestly I thought a dawn meeting with a firing squad would have been merciful punishment for such a clueless stuper! Cell phone ETIQUETTE, people!

What makes people do that?!
I think we all know people that answer their phones like that, thinking nothing of disturbing dozens of people at a meeting. Do they lack common human empathy? Are they egocentric to the degree of being autistic or having a personality disorder? Is there that much mental illness around us? I think maybe there is.
Or... maybe they're just stupers. Yeah, you're probably right.

"I'm pretty sure those wired chairs already exist... IN COMMUNIST RUSSIA! What about an emergency! What if little Timmy catches fire while I'm gone and they need me to come and pick up his charred remains?" This is what the cell-phone enthusiast would tell you, if they were to detach themselves from their text messages long enough to read this. However, I am not one of those people. I would actually choose a different approach however. Forget the physical pain, let's go after these people's emotional well-being. If their phone goes off, I say the chair be wired with a water pump. And we just blast them with warm water. A lot of it. Perhaps pumped straight from the bottom of the dumpsters outside. A garbage-water blast that leaves them a soaking wet, stinking mess. As everyone laughs at them on their way out, they'll think twice about their phone.

You always have great ideas. Wired chairs? Wow!
That would teach them talk on a cellphone when they are not supposed to.

Oh, I hate cell phone users who act like their in a private phone booth, but they're not. Aren't they delusional? Oh right, they're just stupid.
