I don't get it, I really don't. I don't get what attracts young people to this. It's not creative. It's not interesting. It's repetitive, dull, base, moronic. Frequently it copies the tune or rhythm of a previous hit, written by someone who WAS creative. But worst of all is what you said: the profound negativity. It HAS to seep in and affect the unsuspecting minds of our precious children. And to think that this was being inflicted by adults who should know better! It is this kind of music that helped me make the conscious decision some years ago to eliminate all negative music from my life, and listen only to what you describe as the uplifting. I have since generalized that to books, movies, tv shows, blogs and people. And I'm not done eliminating yet. Would love to eliminate those responsible for what you heard!! I so agree with this!
